Bio:

I am a clinical psychologist from Pretoria, South Africa. Social therapy helps me to engage people in performing, playing and philosophising about what they, and what we are becoming as a species. I am an associate professor at a university where I train clinical psychology students in critical, postmodern and group psychotherapies. I also conduct a private practice. I joined the 2015 International class of the Eastside Institute and thereafter was so in love with social therapy that I did an individualised programme to train as a social therapist with Lois Holzman and Christine la Cerva and observing Fred Newman’s groups. I am part of Christine la Cerva’s international supervisory group for social therapists where we continue to grow our practices of social therapy. I have integrated social therapy in various forms into my community projects and psychotherapy practices with a diversity of people and ages. I like bringing different groups of people together, developing new groups and performances; my patients and I earn to speak a new language of development with each other and that is what is exciting about the therapy.
