Bio:

I am a graduate of the IC 2016. I graduated in 2005 with a degree in performing arts and theatre studies. Since then I have been making theatre that challenges the status quo and promotes social change. With an interest in bringing different cultures together and establishing strong relationships on an international level, I represented Volcano theatre on ‘One land many faces’ a European collaborative project that explored our varied cultures and looked at the possibility of establishing a common European identity. This work toured throughout Europe in theatres, schools, colleges and refugee camps.

At the heart of all my artistic endeavours lies the belief that every human being has the right to have their basic needs met, and to feel accepted and connected. I recently performed with FIO theatre company in ‘Swarm,’ a heart wrenching piece of theatre that examined the refugee crisis and the plight of the refugee. https://www.wearefio.co.uk. I’m planning to run performance workshops with the local community in 2018 and will be undertaking workshop leader/facilitator training with FIO on their Participatory arts training program in September 2017. The International class opened my eyes to new ways of learning and looking at the world. The myriad ways that we can grow and develop through play and performance is really exciting! I’m eager to implement these methods in my future workshops.
