Bio:

I am allergic to certain phrases in my life like “Nothing can happen”, “No Future” or any inhibition & negativism. As a teenager I always discovered & explored talents in children who were” hyperactive & indisciplined” & who were rejected by the society. I would try to explore them &start discovering some creative performances by them. My biggest challenge arrived when my own brother started suffering from schizophrenia & all the Psychiatrists declared that “no development” is possible for him. I started my center Turning Point with a dream to bring back development & growth not only in his life but also in the life of all the unfortunate victims of mental illness in 1998.

From then on wards I have initiated a number of techniques like interactive games to increase their attention, concentration level, initiated a number of skills development & training for them, bestowed responsibilities on them to run the organisation with few of us as volunteers & support system & to take decisions for their own benefit. This whole process showed a great development in their life but the professionals were not willing to accept it as a strategy/ therapy for their growth & development .

East Side Institute & Social Therapy helped me to boost my confidence, learn some new techniques which were very similar to what I practiced at my center & allowed me to feel liberal to see & think differently. The concept & philosophy of Social Therapy is very similar to Indian Philosophy which I enjoyed. After returning back from ESI, I started an entrepreneurship initiative -“Jhankar” for them which have also received few national & international awards. To me, the most important factor is bringing development & growth to these people through some unconventional, affordable techniques to suit our budget plans. We now have three centers in three different areas & we are planning to open more. We are planning to restart Social Therapy courses again in India as now I have a willing member who is interested to collaborate with me & utilize his infrastructure to start the course very soon.
