I am a musician currently living in El Paso, Texas. where I serve as an Assistant Professor of Commercial Piano at the University of Texas at El Paso. I maintain an active career as an improviser and composer, focused on avant garde performance and producing music for film and media. I received my bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and my master’s and doctoral degrees in Jazz Piano Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am passionate about working with diverse populations on creative music practices through performance, composition and collaborative music making. I am the co-founder and Assistant Director of ImprovISA, an organization that empowers communities to develop through improvisation and performance, which has given workshops and presentations in New York City, Paris, Ontario, Texas, New Mexico, and Illinois.
