I am a fellow of the Indian Association of Social Psychiatry. Over the last three decades I have been working as a Clinical Psychologist across India. I earned my PhD from the University of Calcutta and got registration from the Rehabilitation Council of India. I am a ‘Michael Walther Fellow’ of Fountain House, New York and hold the post of the Director of SEVAC Clubhouse of India, which is the only accredited clubhouse in the Indian Subcontinent. In addition to this, I also hold the position of the Chief Psychologist-cum-Project Coordinator of SEVAC Mental Health & Human Rights Resource Centre, which has been implementing a multidimensional project across India, putting emphasis on the uninterrupted treatment, meaningful rehabilitation and human rights promotion of persons with mental illness. I also work as a faculty member in different Mental Health Education Programmes. My papers were published and presented in different international and national seminars. I was actively involved in different Programmes, which were supported by the National Human Rights Commission of India, National Women’s Commission and European Union, for the human rights promotion of persons with mental illness. My study at the International Class of the East Side Institute empowered me to fight the mental health related stigma in a different way. I have been appointed to the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Psychiatry and Neuroscience
