Bio:

Sanja Popovic holds a BA in English Language and Literature. She is working in Secondary School of Economics and Commerce, teaching English and Business English to teenage students (age 14-18) in her hometown Kula. As an English language lover, she studied languages and later started teaching English to children, but her interests go far beyond classrooms.

She started volunteering and traveling a couple years ago (with the SCI- international volunteering organization) and that was an eye-opening experience for her. It helped her grow personally and professionally. She saw the importance of civic and community-oriented engagement. Currently, she is working on the Demo:Dram project where the partners from various European countries are collaborating to explore how democratic classrooms can be created in education and how to engage students in Civic thinking using drama. Her experience with East Side Institute has brought her a higher level of development and self-discovery. She is a single mom raising a teenager.
