Children have fewer opportunities for free play than did previous generations; adults are working more, playing less, and plagued by stress. The loss of play for kids and adults is particularly pronounced in poor communities, where it has become a luxury. Play is inseparable from personal and societal development, and thus the loss of play becomes a social justice issue too.
Join play scholar Carrie Lobman and guest play activists and advocates to discuss the activities, controversies and conceptions moving around and about the play movement.
